Welcome to Proud Lion's Star Wars Destiny Regional 2018 event! We hope to make this a weekend to remember, with three days of Destiny for you to enjoy!DAY 1 - Dinner and DestinyFor those looking for a relaxed affair, on Friday 2nd March from 6:30pm we will be running Dinner and Destiny, a casual ice-breaker where players can have a meal and some casual games if they like. Tickets for this evening are £25, and includes a two-course meal, a drink, and a promo item. There are 40 places available for this event.
*Please note tickets for Dinner and Destiny are only available for purchase until Thursday 8th February 2018. On Friday 9th February you will be sent an email with details about menu options; please be sure to check your registered email address at this time, as if we do not receive a response we will have to refund your Dinner and Destiny ticket.DAY 2 - Main Regional EventThe main event will take place on Saturday 3rd March. Registration takes place from 11:15 to 11:45. To make this as efficient as possible, please have your complete deck list ready when you arrive to register. The first round will begin at 12pm, with up to 7 total rounds of Swiss expected, followed by a top 8 cut as per the Advanced tournament structure. Tickets for the main event are £18, and hot tea or coffee is included with every ticket. There are 64 places available for this event. Players will receive prizes from the official Regional kit, with additional prizing provided depending on the number of participants.Please note this Regional is a Formal Tier tournament. As such, all players are expected to be familiar with the game rules. We also ask all players who purchase a ticket for this event to have read the latest Rules Regulations before arriving.DAY 3 - Additional EventsFinally, for those seeking a full weekend of dice rolling, we will be running three additional Destiny events on the Sunday. These will all run as Relaxed Tier events, with prizes for winners of each pod. There are 40 places available for each of these events.
- 12pm, Constructed Trilogies Format, £4. This will run in separate pods of up to 8 players each, with each pod running 3 Swiss rounds.
- 3pm, Multiplayer Format, £4. This will run in separate pods of up to 4 players each, with each pod running a single multiplayer game.
- 5pm, Draft Format, £22. This will run in separate pods of up to 8 players each, with each pod running 3 Swiss rounds.
All Players must bring everything they need to play in each event for which they purchase a ticket. For the constructed events (Regional, Trilogies, and Multiplayer), this includes a legal player deck and all required dice and tokens. For the draft event, this includes a single Rivals Set and all required tokens.As per our agreement with the venue, no outside drinks are permitted. All drinks are to be purchased from the hotel bar or hotel drink machine. Drinks from the bar are very reasonably priced. Meals are not included for any event (unless specified). Players are welcome to bring their own food on Saturday and Sunday.LOCAL ACCOMMODATION
For convenience, you may wish to stay in the Holiday Inn Express, putting you in the same venue as the event itself. At the time of writing (December 2017), rates start from £60 per room per night.There are several other accommodation options in the area, including (but not limited to) the Premier Inn and The Queens Hotel.TRAVEL AND PARKING
Cheltenham is easy to reach by train or bus. Trains will bring you to the Cheltenham Spa Rail Station, from which you can take the D bus into the town centre. Bus and coach journeys will bring you either into the town centre or to the Royal Well Bus Station. The Holiday Inn Express is a two minute walk from the town centre, and a five minute walk from the bus station.There are two car parks next to the venue. ). Other car parks in the area may vary.
